According to Miyagi Hidetaka, his namesake brand operates on a seasonless basis. He opts insteadto designpieceson a product by product basis, using his own stylistic preferences to inform his clothing. His flagship product as of late has been the bandana flannel shirt, which showcases his own unique way of making clothing. This bandana flannel series focuses on upcycling vintage garments (utilizing found vintage flannel shirts and bandanas as the base material) and a raw yet high quality hand-crafted finish. The vintage bandanas are cut, individually pattern-matched, andsewn together (with edges left unfinished) tomatch the pattern pieces of the original shirt. Then, these replicated shirt pieces are sewn onto the base flannel, attached at hems and armholes for a 2-ply finish. Care is taken to remove the original shirt pocket and resew it with its own bandana covering after the rest of the bandana shirtbody is applied so peering into the pocket one can still see the original blue check. What results is a shirt that presents fine and lustrouswith a brilliant sharpness to the print thanks to the cotton calico bandanas, yet at the same time has that rugged, structured, and protectivewarmth of a flannel. The raw shingled bandana patches lend a definite edge, making this shirt both a statement piece and easy enough to throw on and go without a second thought.
